My blog and I have been together for a little over a year now. I was thinking about it yesterday, and wondering just what it is that keeps me coming back.
Why am I doing this?
And as I thought about it, I came up with a few reasons why I blog.
1. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and confidence. It’s little, but it’s fun, and I did it! 🙂
2. It really is a “world-wide web“! I’m “meeting” people from all over the world! Places I will probably never get to go to in person.
3. I’m getting to explore the world through the eyes of other people. I am fascinated by some of the amazing photos I’ve seen! There are some great photographers in this world.
4. I’m learning new things, and learning is always good.
5. It can be a challenge sometimes, and it makes me stretch into unknown territory. This is good too!
6. It gives me goals to pursue and attain.
7. It’s fun, and I enjoy it, and I hope it stays that way.
8. It gives me an opportunity to share my little world with the great big world. And honestly, I would never stand up in front of a room and talk, so this is the only way for me.
9. It gives me hope. There are a lot of really nice people in this world, doing really great things.
10. And, maybe, just maybe….I will be able to encourage someone else along the way.
Oh boy, this cough is wearing me out! And I’ve only had it for a few weeks! My husband has had it for almost 4 weeks now!
We went to the store and got some medicine for it. The gal at the counter told us she’s been living on the stuff.
And then she offered this little bit of encouragement. The cough can last up to 8 weeks!
Well, that made my day!
It’s very strange really. It’s not like I’m sick, no fever, or achy bones. Just an annoying cough, that likes to be even more annoying just about the time I want to go to sleep.
Strange, the way our body works!
Time for another cup of hot tea with honey! That seems to calm the coughing for a bit.
And that, my friends is what I’m striving for!
Quiet and calm. The tea is good for both! (and the medicine helps too)
It’s a good thing it works too, because it looks like I’m going to be in this mode for a little bit longer.
But hey! I’m half-way through this now. Brighter days ahead!

We had to check it out. This amazing place called Two Lovers Point in Guam.
And he is the love of my life.
Thankfully, we didn’t feel the need to jump from the cliff, as described of the two lovers in the legend of Two Lovers Point. 🙂
Of this, I am quite sure! I will have an adventure this week-end.
My grandkids are spending the week-end! I have been looking forward with anticipation to this date for quite some time!
What I didn’t anticipate, was the pesky cough the week before they came. It’s still hanging around, but thankfully, my energy level is up from earlier this week. It’s a good thing too, because these two little kids are going to use all the energy that I have tried to store up the last couple of days!
One boy, one girl, as different as night and day. And I love them both so very much!
Recently someone told me that “grandchildren are one of life’s best kept secrets”. I must agree with her. I am finding this “job” of being a Grandma to be one of the best careers ever!
Their smiles, their hugs, the sound of their voice, and their wonderful imaginations! Oh the joy of seeing the world through their eyes! I’m looking forward to hearing some good stories, and making new memories.
I know I will be one tired Grandma by the end of Sunday night, but it’s a “good tired”! And a moment I will forever treasure.
3 gifts blue…

The last time I went to Washington DC, I ate at this little place called “Good Stuff Eatery“. Oh my, was it good!
It took us a little while to find the place. It was dark, it was unfamiliar territory, it was downtown Washington DC!
But, we were determined to eat at a place that was unique to the city we were in! It’s a goal of ours to eat at local restaurants when travelling, and we try to avoid chain restaurants.
So, after negotiating the crazy streets, and finding a place to park, we ventured out to see what we would find!
What we found was a funky little place, offering burgers and shakes. But not just your ordinary, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shake!
Amazing names like, Toasted Marshmallow, Milky Way Malt, Black & White, Salty Caramel Kiss, just to name a few.
With names like that, I just had to give this place a try.
So I placed my order. A ‘SHROOM BURGER – Muenster & Cheddar stuffed Portobello Tops, Flash Fried With Panko Crumbs, Tomatoes, Onions, Lettuce & Pickle With Good Stuff Sauce.
Oh yeah!
And when the menu basically only has two items on it…I decided I probably should try the other item they were offering.
A hand spun shake. My choice was the Salty Caramel Kiss.
And oh, it was so delicious! I can’t even begin to describe how good the shake was! The burger was gone in a flash, but the shake was something that needed to be savored.
I’m ready to go back to DC, just for the shake! The burger was delightful, the shake….amazing!
It was another good adventure with my very best friend 🙂
It’s a beautiful day, and I have the energy level of mashed potatoes. This pesky little cough that has made it’s way into just about everyone’s life, has seemed to have taken over mine today.
I’m tired of the coughing, and I’m just plain tired.
I don’t really feel bad, just tired. But not the sleepy kind of tired. The kind of tired that feels like I have just ran a marathon, when all I’ve done is brush my teeth!
My garden is calling me. But the best I can do today is just observe.
I know it could be worse. I’m thankful it’s not.
I have a warm house, warm clothes, and a nice hot cup of tea.
