Thankful Thursday: 3 Gifts Smelled

3 Gifts Smelled…

1. The smell of a newborn baby. Such a unique smell.  So sweet, so pure.  There is nothing quite like it in the world.

2. Coffee.  Yes.  The absolutely, wonderful and amazing smell of coffee.  I am so thankful for this!

3. And from my garden, I love the smell of the jasmine as it wafts across the yard.  I only wish it lasted a little longer.

These are just a few of the many things that I am so very thankful for today.

What are you thankful for?

Will you join me in looking for these gifts and sharing them with others?

Have a wonderful “Thankful Thursday“!

Oh the joy of technology

Ah the joy…and the pain of technology.

When it “works”, it’s amazing! It does things beyond our wildest imagination! I mean really, just look at all the things your phone can do for you…and you can even use it as a phone!

Simply amazing!  Or is it really that simple?  I think not!

When it fails us, or probably more like, when I fail it, there’s nothing quite as frustrating.  But I mean really, should it be this complicated?

I’ve tried everything that this feeble brain of mine can think of to resolve this issue, and I just can’t figure it out!  It’s so frustrating right now, I could just, well you know….SCREAM!

But I’m happy to say that all is well now.  After a visit to my friendly Apple store, a crisis has been adverted, and I’m back in the land of sanity.  And it’s so nice to be back!  That going crazy stuff really isn’t that much fun!

And yes, it was “user error“.  Almost always is, isn’t it?

Now, if I could just get one of those shiny new Mac Book‘s that I saw at the store!  Ahhh….that would be nice!

Someday, my dream will come true 🙂

Dare to Be….

So many good reminders here.  A reminder to be thankful.  A reminder to never give up.  And a reminder to be that true and good friend.

Dare to be, and make the most of every opportunity!

Dare to Be

When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.

When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.

When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.

When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.

When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.

When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.

When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.

When times are tough, dare to be tougher.

When love hurts you, dare to love again.

When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.

When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.

When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.

When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.

When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.

When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.

Dare to be the best you can –

At all times, Dare to be!”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Fleeting

In this moment Grandpa can hold his little hand and help him up the step.  But it won’t be long before this is just a fleeting memory.

Hold on tight, because life is precious, life is sweet!

This could be the day

Well, this could be it!

Today just might be the day I get my cast off of my arm! It’s been 5 weeks since that fateful day. The day I fell off my bike and my arm collided with the sidewalk, resulting in a scaphoid fracture in my left arm.

My husband has been so patient and awesome through it all. You’ve heard of someone being your “right-hand man”? Well, I have an amazing “left-hand man” and I am so very thankful for him and his love and care for me. He’s simply the best!

I’ve tried to carry on life as “normal”, but it seems to have caused a bit of a slow down. Showers take a little bit longer, typing is a little painful at times, and cooking seems to have taken the biggest brunt of it all. I still haven’t figured out how to open a packet of sugar for my coffee with just one hand yet!

These are just a few of the little inconveniences that will hopefully be a thing of the past soon.

Just think, this could be the day that I’ll be back to “normal” like everyone else!

However, I’m a little leery about the prospects of a cast free arm. After all the reading I have done about this type of injury, it’s quite possible I’m in for another few weeks of this.

I know…I’m not suppose to believe everything I read on the Internet, but apparently this type of fracture can be a little quirky, and can be quite difficult to heal.

Hmmmm……

So, I’m holding out hope, because well, right now, that’s about all I have! I’m hoping this has healed quite nicely, and that there won’t be any residual pain/effect of this injury.

And now I’m off to the Doctor…and hoping for the best!!!

Thankful Thursday: 3 gifts orange

3 gifts orange:

Well, let’s see….orange isn’t really one of my “go to” colors, I’m more of a “blues” girl, but I think I found some pretty good orange things to be thankful for!

1. The dainty little orange poppy that pops up to greet us in the spring.

2. When the sun sets, leaving behind the brilliant orange glow across the water and the sky.

Quite possibly one of my favorite times of the day!

3. Sitting by a fire, chatting with friends, mesmerized by the orange glow, and enjoying the warmth of the fire as well as the friendship.
