For most of the world, Summer is winding down and transitioning to Fall. For those of us fortunate enough to live in Southern California, Summer will still be around for a few more weeks!
So my 3 gifts of summer are….
1. The ocean and the beach, bring sweet relief in the heat of summer.
2. The flowers of summer, bloom bright and beautiful!
3. The fun and the folly of kids playing in the sun.
“All in all, it was a never-to-be-forgotten summer — one of those summers which come seldom into any life, but leave a rich heritage of beautiful memories in their going — one of those summers which, in a fortunate combination of delightful weather, delightful friends and delightful doing, come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world.”
~ L.M. Montgomery
I must agree with her, it has been a summer to remember, full of so many wonderful moments to be thankful for! These are just a few of a multitude of a heart full of good things!
What are you thankful for?
Will you join me in looking for these gifts and sharing them with others?
““In ordinary life we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.”
Yes in my part of the world fall is coming soon, school has started, and I wonder why I didn’t get my to do list didn’t get done!
BUT we are on our way to my sons wedding this weekend, and the sun is shining after a stormy morning. And I’m also thankful that he is marrying the right girl!
And I love that Bonhoeffer quote!
Congratulations to your family! I hope you have a wonderful time & that the sun continues to shine on your time of celebration! And yes, marrying the right girl is an absolute treasure.
Have fun & hang in there 🙂
1. My first reunion since Mom passed
2. Swimming with Olyvia
3. Sweat running down my back
Weird, I know. It’s the little things that count, right?
Absolutely! I love your list! Sometimes it’s ONLY the little things that count. 🙂 thank you for sharing your “good things” with the rest of us.
yes! Flowers make the summer’s heat bearable. 🙂
You’ve got that right! Can you imagine a hot summer without them? Oh wait…I think I can, it’s called the desert, and well, that’s pretty unbearable!
So, yes…I love the flowers!
Thank you!
Gifts to cherish , treasure and celebrate always. Beautiful images of Summer’s unforgettable blessings.
Ahh, I like this, “cherish, treasure, and celebrate”. Yes, yes and YES!!! That’s what I spend a lot of my time doing, or what I should be doing if I’m not!
Thank you for this great comment!
