And a Happy New Year to you too, Charlotte! I hope you have a great year!
I’ve been meaning to tell you this…we went by your old house in Ft Lauderdale! 🙂 Wow! What a beautiful environment to grow up in! You might have been a “wee” bit spoiled my friend! 🙂
We even ate at the Riverside Hotel…it was a delightful meal! Thank you so much for the tip!
We enjoyed our visit to FL, that is until we got sick. 😦 (then it was a bit of a challenge)…but we still enjoyed it !

        OMG x 2.
OMG 1: It has been SO long since I have been online so I missed this comment!

OMG 2: I can’t believe you went to Las Olas and the Riverside Hotel!!! It is so beautiful, isn’t it. I like to think that I was very fortunate. Living in a gorgeous home, on a gorgeous street, in a gorgeous part of a city was not lost on me. My father used to say that I fought growing up kicking and screaming and I was all like, I knew I had it good, why would I want to accelerate the process and leave such nice circumstances! 🙂 A private balcony off my bedroom with a water view… I mean really!!! But I also learned from the experience that nothing lasts for ever and that even beautiful homes with beautiful views isn’t everything. I watched my father get ill while we lived in that house, it changed his ability to work and we sold the house. He died a few years later and it’s all gone. But just the material stuff is gone, well and dad, but what stays with me the most is the love, the memories and how very grateful I am that I squeezed the lemon, that I got to experience such wonderfulness and value it and I like to think it has fueled my desire to appreciate beauty in whatever form it presents itself in my life.

Wow, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to get so heavy. Funny how parts of ourselves gets triggered. I am truly touched that you took the time in your trip to visit Ft. Lauderdale and that you had a wonderful time. I am also grateful you told me.

Hope you are feeling better and sorry for being so babbly! 🙂

          No apologies necessary!
It was pretty cool actually to make that little “connection” with you! My husband kept telling me, don’t forget, we need to go by your friends house before we leave! 🙂
I took a picture of the house – (it was a little tricky, because I didn’t want them to think I was casing their house) – but I can’t figure out how to put the picture here, for you to see it 😦
You are so right about the material things…in the end, they really aren’t important…if only more people could get “that”!
I am so very glad that you have good & precious memories of your Dad, and the time you spent with that beautiful view! AMAZING!:) He sounds like he was an great man & loved you very much!

Maybe one of these days, we will meet in person!

  2. Love photos of trees and skies taken from below! I don’t have palms though! 🙂
    Blessed 2014 to you!
