Weekly Photo Challenge: Letters

Letters displayed on the side of a building…a building that holds millions of letters.  Millions of letters divided into thousands of books.

Books that have stood the test of time…books that have changed lives.  Books enrich, encourage, teach, and take us to places we have never been.

So go ahead, get a good book….and read some letters 🙂

Powell's bookstore

And if you find yourself in the Portland area, do yourself a favor and visit this amazing place….Powell’s Books.  It’s everything they said it would be, and more!

I LOVE Powell’s! Oh my gosh we were there for HOURS and just wandered and wandered and my daughter loved their rare books room. Oh my and when we got tired we refueled in the coffee shop and went back to the books! My only problem was making myself not buy more than I could fit into my carryon! Great choice for Letters! 🙂

      Isn’t it an amazing place?!
It’s a book lovers’ “heaven” that’s for sure! Unfortunately, we only had a few hours, so we wandered as fast as we could 🙂 I LOVE IT though…next time, we will give ourselves MUCH more wandering time!

  2. I love Powell’s! I lived in Portland for a few years attending Portland State and could walk here. 🙂

Wow! Now that would be awesome! I think I would find myself walking there a lot, if I had that option! Portland…what a fascinating place. I was born there, but we moved when I was very young, so I have no memories of living there. It is a beautiful part of the world, that’s for sure. We enjoyed our visit…loved all of the GREEN trees, but I must admit, I’m kind of a “wimp” when it comes to cold temps. It’s good to be back home where my toes are free to live in flip flops again 🙂

  3. Perfect photo for this challenge. We lived in Portland for several years and Powell’s is just one of the amazing things about that city.

Thank you! Portland is an amazing place – so diverse! I hope to go back again, and spend a little more time at Powell’s 🙂
