Weekly Photo Challenge: Spring

A photo of spring….I live in San Diego! Where should I begin?

It feels like there is always something in bloom around here, but spring does bring some new and energetic colors when it bursts onto the scene.

These are two of the most recent additions to my garden.  I’m loving the purple color of the Hydrangea.  It was a gift from my daughter, and it makes me smile every time I look at it!

Ah blooms! Ate my first strawberries picked from my garden this morning and my blueberries are almost ready for picking! Ah blooms! 🙂

I’ve enjoyed a few strawberries too, waiting for the next batch now. How are the blueberries ? Are they hard to grow? I think I might want to try some 🙂

      • Life&Ink says:

The blueberry bush is in complete bloom, I mean those little suckers are everywhere. They just are not quite ready to be picked, oh my but when they are I will be eating everything blueberry. And the care of the bush is wonderfully easy, my favorite kind, I water when it gets dry and fertilize in the spring and other than that just sorta leave it alone and it does what it’s supposed to. 🙂

Well, I hope you are overwhelmed with blueberry goodness. I’m going to check into one of these little bushes and see if I can’t get my own blueberry party going 🙂

Beautiful vibrant colors! And what a gorgeous variety of hydrangea!

    • Becky says:

Thank you Rene 🙂 I’ve had it for a few years, but last year it didn’t flower, so this year, it’s making me pretty happy! 🙂

  4. The orange ones have seized me. More details please!

    • Becky says:

Ha! Well, I’m really not too sure what it is, sorry. I think it might be a Mum of some kind? Sorry. I’ll see if I can figure it out, and let you know.

  5. So pretty! And we are quite lucky with our year-round sunshine and blooms 🙂

  6. Stunning, beautiful blooms of Spring. Love the purple flowers. Gifts that blossomed from love ones do make us smile and glow like no other. Have a blessed wonderful day.

Thank you – it certainly makes it a little more special, doesn’t it? I hope you have an amazing week…thanks for your kind and thoughtful comment 🙂

  7. Gorgeous! I love hydrangeas with their great big blossom heads. 🙂

Thank you! I do too! I’m always jealous when I see them in other yards – now I have my own 🙂

That is so nice of your daughter to give you a plant as a present, and a very beautiful one too. I think it’s a very thoughtful gift – it’s a gift that will keep you busy for a while. You’ll need to water it, make sure it has the right soil…looks like you’re making the most of the flower as it looks stunning in the photo.

It’s almost winter here in Melbourne…dark and cold. So seeing your flowers perked me up a bit 🙂

    • Becky says:

Thank you Mabel – I’m glad the flowers brightened your day 🙂 I have lots of time to spend on the flowers, so I’m happy to give them my full attention.

So nice to hear you spend quite a bit of time on your flowers. No wonder they look so beautiful and cheery. Keep planting 🙂

        • Becky says:

Thanks …. I did just that! Planted a few more flowers and vegetables yesterday. Looking forward to the harvest! 🙂
