And the nominations are…

My blogging friend, Margaret Langridge has nominated me for this awesome award.

It has taken me much to long to respond to it though, and she has probably forgotten by now that she even did this for me!

So, do me a favor and check out her blog, it’s amazing! I know you will enjoy it as much as I have, it’s called: Along Life’s Road

The award she has so graciously bestowed upon me is:

The Versatile Blogger Award

Don’t know what it is?

I didn’t either, but I checked it out, and now I know.  You can check it out to, just click on this link.

Daily Prompt: Share the Love

Tell us about another blogger who has influenced your own online journey.

I don’t usually do the daily prompt – but I liked the idea of this one so much that I decided to give it a whirl!

When it comes to narrowing it down to just one blogger who has influenced me on my blogging journey, I can’t.

There are a lot of them! Each in their own unique way. They have influenced and encouraged me through words, pictures, comments and follows!

Here are just a few.  If you haven’t already met them, allow me to introduce you!

Ann Voskamp @ A Holy Experience – her writing and her book have influenced me to continually search for the good things in life. Everyday, big or little.  There is always, always something to be thankful for!

Charlotte @ Life & Ink – her zeal for life, and her commitment to her family are always an inspiration to me! She makes me laugh, and always encourages me along the way!

Vladimir and Johna @ Wind Against Current – I’m continually fascinated by their kayaking adventures, and admittedly a little jealous of their view! 🙂

Nancy @ Living the Seasons – She’s been at this blogging/diary business for a good long time, and that simply inspires me to never give up!

Paul @ Tips from the Top – He doesn’t write often, but he should! Maybe this will encourage him to write a little more often 🙂  He is my constant supporter, and continually cheers me on!

Amazing people who have inspired and influenced me on this journey!

There are many, many more, but I already messed with this prompt by sharing 5 people who influenced me instead of just the one as suggested!

Thank you for joining me on my journey!

Another milestone on this journey!

I was notified just the other day by the cool people at Word Press, that I have reached another milestone in this fascinating world of blogging!

1000 likes

Wow! I know I’m just a little fish in a very, big pond, but this is just pretty awesome to me!

I’m amazed.

I’m humbled.

I’m in awe of the world around me!

This adventure called “blogging“, has made my life a lot more interesting!  I’m “meeting” new people, and “traveling” to places I may never visit in person!

It’s really quite fascinating!

Thank you so much to everyone who has encouraged me by clicking on the little button of affirmation!

I really am just a quiet person in a loud world….and this milestone…well, it just makes me smile 🙂

Thanks again!

Me and my blog

My blog and I have been together for a little over a year now.  I was thinking about it yesterday, and wondering just what it is that keeps me coming back.

Why am I doing this?

And as I thought about it, I came up with a few reasons why I blog.

1. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and confidence.  It’s little, but it’s fun, and I did it! 🙂

2. It really is a “world-wide web“!  I’m “meeting” people from all over the world!  Places I will probably never get to go to in person.

3. I’m getting to explore the world through the eyes of other people. I am fascinated by some of the amazing photos I’ve seen!  There are some great photographers in this world.

4. I’m learning new things, and learning is always good.

5. It can be a challenge sometimes, and it makes me stretch into unknown territory.  This is good too!

6. It gives me goals to pursue and attain.

7. It’s fun, and I enjoy it, and I hope it stays that way.

8. It gives me an opportunity to share my little world with the great big world.  And honestly, I would never stand up in front of a room and talk, so this is the only way for me.

9. It gives me hope.  There are a lot of really nice people in this world, doing really great things.

10. And, maybe, just maybe….I will be able to encourage someone else along the way.

Another milestone

I’ve reached another milestone in my blogging journey!  Thank you so much for helping me reach this mark and making this possible!

500 likes have been attributed to my blog! I realize that compared to some other blogs I’ve read, this isn’t a huge number, but it’s surpassed anything I ever imagined, that’s for sure!

When I started on this journey a little over a year a go, I had no idea where it would take me, or if anyone would even read it.

I am amazed, honored, and so grateful to everyone who has stopped by my blog for a visit. Thank you for taking a few seconds of your time to stop, and give me a thumbs up, and “like” what you read or see.

It’s been fun to meet new people, and get a glimpse into their lives, and the world around them.  A little intimidating at times, but I’m enjoying the challenge.

I’m really excited to be on this journey, and I’m looking forward to the next 500 likes!

Happiness is the key to success.
If you love what you are doing,
you will be successful.

One down, more to come

I’m celebrating the one year anniversary of my blog today! It’s been a year since I started on this journey, and oh what a journey it has been!

I approach this new world rather cautiously, trying desperately not to compare myself to other, more experienced, and verbose bloggers (this is so hard for me)!

I am continually amazed and consider it a real honor when someone I may never meet, “likes” my post, comments on it, or even more amazingly…they make the decision to follow me on my journey!

It’s humbling, and inspiring, and gives me the courage to carry on. I’m so glad I made the decision to explore places I have never been before by going on this “blog journey”.

I can honestly say I am at a much better place in my life today, both mentally and emotionally. I am happy to be who I am, and where I am.

Oh, I know there is always room for improvement. Some days are a little more difficult than others, but my goal each day is to look for the good things in life.

And with that in mind, I’m looking forward to another good year of “meeting” new friends, going on adventures with my husband (my best friend), and celebrating this life!

One year down….and hopefully there will be many, many more!

Fantastic Friday – 1000 views!

I did it! I have over 1000 views on my blog site!

In fact, as of right this very moment, I have 1,015 views all-time!

I know that the more experienced bloggers out there are probably smiling at me, and think this is no big deal, but to me, it’s huge!

In this great big world, I am but one small voice!  “On October 13, 2012, there were around 77 million Tumblr and 56.6 million WordPress blogs in existence worldwide.”

Now those are some impressive numbers!

It’s just a number, and I must admit, watching the stats page has become a bit addictive, but I hope that it really means more than just a number.

I hope that I have been able to bring a smile to someone along the way.  I hope that in some small way, my little world will be able to connect with yours.

Next goal? 2000 views!

Have a Fantastic Friday!
