Thankful Thursday: 3 gifts that made me laugh

3 gifts that made me laugh 🙂

I don’t laugh out loud a lot … but that doesn’t mean I’m not happy.  There are a lot of things that make me happy, as well as a lot of things that I laugh about, to and with.

1. This little guy’s laugh is absolutely contagious, and it’s hard not to join him when he lets that little giggle out. It becomes a type of game with him, the more you laugh…the more he laughs.  A never-ending circle of pure joy! I’m so thankful that I am able to “hear” this wonderful sound of laughter. Like good medicine for a weary soul, he fills my heart to overflowing.

2. This moment, this funny little plastic mustache…a moment of fun, and laughter.  A moment to cherish and realize that yes, I’m thankful that sometimes it’s just a simple little thing that can make me laugh, and make him happy too!

3. And this one, well you might have needed to be there to appreciate it…but it did make me laugh out loud!

My 5-year-old granddaughter took my phone and was the photographer for the evening. I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw some of the pictures that she took, this being one of my favorites. I’m so thankful for her, and her creativity, I’m just hoping her choice of subject matter to photograph will maybe improve as she gets older 🙂

Keep looking for those little things in life – the ones that make you smile, and maybe even make you laugh…out loud! 🙂

Thankful Thursday: 3 gifts found on paper

3 gifts found on paper

1. I’m so thankful for the little hands that drew this picture of penguins playing in the snow…and then proceeded to proudly hang it on my refrigerator, just for me.

2. For the millions of books that have been written and printed on paper…I’m so thankful for moments like this.

3.  The love notes, sweet wishes, and kind words, all written down and tucked safely away. I’m so thankful for the hearts and the hands of the people who wrote these for me. They are my life.

Wordless Wednesday: Reflections and shadows

And they’re off!

Finally!

Last year, around the time that I broke my arm, I came across this really cool blog called “Knitting Rays of Hope“.  I was so impressed by their commitment to reach out to others, and help children and babies who are battling the ravages of cancer, in a very practical way.

A soft hat.

I couldn’t wait until my arm healed, so that I could make some hats, and share in their efforts to help others.  I had never made these hats before, but they assured me that it was easy, and they even have some very helpful and handy tutorials on their blog site.

So….after several months of being in a cast, and recovery, my arm was feeling better, and I decided to give it a try!

It’s true! It’s easy, and fun!

I’m excited to announce that these “babies” are on their way today.  17 hats in different shapes and colors!

It feels so good to help others. 🙂  Go ahead, check it out for yourself, and make a hat or two or three, and then pass them on to someone in need!

Thankful Thursday: A gift in sky, water, memory

A gift in the sky:

I’m thankful for the gift of airplanes…taking me to far away places, soaring high in the sky! (I’m also thankful that I don’t live in cold places like the one the airplane is flying over.) 🙂

A gift in water:

I’m so very thankful that this bridge was built in the water, to go over the water to take me away to one of my favorite places…Coronado Island. A respite when my soul is weary.

A gift of memory:

Oh, this is a hard one because I have so many good memories, and so many things to be thankful for.  But for this one, I’ll go back to a most recent memory… a memory I cherish and am so thankful that I was able to be a part of…this great memory when Grandpa shared his ice cream with our sweet little grandson.

A very precious gift…a very precious memory.
