Grandma fail…
Oh, it was just one of those days. The kind that takes a different twist and turn just about every other minute of the day.
And then, the grand twist of them all…I volunteered to pick my grandkids up from school, and got the pick up time wrong!
Really?
How did I manage to do that? I’ve picked them up several times before. This wasn’t the first (and hopefully it won’t be the last), so I know what time they get out.
But, nope..not yesterday.
Yesterday, I got a call from their mom wondering if I was planning on getting the kids, and if I was, well, they got out of school 10 minutes a go.
Yep. I felt terrible.
I rushed to pick them up, as quick as I could go, and there they were. Waiting ever so patiently (well, not really patiently, but still waiting) for me in the school office.
I was greeted with hugs and smiles. (Hugs always helps when you’ve made a blundering mistake, so that was nice!)
I asked them if they thought I forgot about them.
No grandma, we know you would never forget us…but you did forget to pick us up!
Yep…classic “Grandma fail”.
Trust me, that will never happen again!
Thankful Thursday: 3 gifts in summer
3 gifts in summer…These are just some of the things that I am thankful for in the summer.
1. I’m thankful for time at the beach just hanging out with my best friend.
2. I’m thankful for all the great parks in the city to hang out in with our grandkids.
3. Summer and baseball…they just go together, and for that, I am very thankful!
These are just a few of the many things that I am so very thankful for today.
What are you thankful for?
Will you join me in looking for these gifts and sharing them with others?

Thankful Thursday: 3 gifts found in community
3 gifts found in community…This is an interesting one.
What exactly does it mean? Well, to find out, I did a little google search on the word, com·mu·ni·ty /kəˈmyo͞onitē/
Noun
|
Hmmm…well, that didn’t really help much! I guess community just means a bunch of people who hang out together!
The value of community is probably what I am most thankful for. The people who are there to support me, encourage me, and love me, just for who I am.
Nothing more, nothing less. Just me.
Without a sense of community, life becomes a very lonely place. It is important and yes, even necessary to belong to a group of people. People you can relate to, and feel comfortable with. People who make your heart happy, and your soul soar.
1. Our grandkids certainly fill up our community…a group of little people we love with all our hearts!
2. Sometimes, community can be found in a singular place. The arms of someone who loves you very much.
3. And sometimes you witness the effects of community and the pride and joy it can bring when people join together for one common goal. A team victory!
Just a few of the many things that I am so very thankful for today.
What are you thankful for?
Will you join me in looking for these gifts and sharing them with others?

I hope you have a wonderful “Thankful Thursday!
An adventure awaits
Of this, I am quite sure! I will have an adventure this week-end.
My grandkids are spending the week-end! I have been looking forward with anticipation to this date for quite some time!
What I didn’t anticipate, was the pesky cough the week before they came. It’s still hanging around, but thankfully, my energy level is up from earlier this week. It’s a good thing too, because these two little kids are going to use all the energy that I have tried to store up the last couple of days!
One boy, one girl, as different as night and day. And I love them both so very much!
Recently someone told me that “grandchildren are one of life’s best kept secrets”. I must agree with her. I am finding this “job” of being a Grandma to be one of the best careers ever!
Their smiles, their hugs, the sound of their voice, and their wonderful imaginations! Oh the joy of seeing the world through their eyes! I’m looking forward to hearing some good stories, and making new memories.
I know I will be one tired Grandma by the end of Sunday night, but it’s a “good tired”! And a moment I will forever treasure.
