Weekly Photo Challenge: Good Morning!

It might be a common start, but as far as I’m concerned its one of the best ways to start the morning.

My day starts with a cup of coffee brought to me by my amazing husband!

If I haven’t made my way out of bed yet, he’ll bring it to my night stand, and wave his hand over the cup so that I can smell the wonderful aroma of the fresh cup of coffee.

And yes, it’s delightful.

Most mornings, I’ve already made it to the shower, and it’s waiting for me when I step out. Ahhh…I love that moment when I smell the coffee as I’m standing in the shower.

It certainly is a great way to start my day, and it plays a role in helping to make my morning a “good morning“!

What are you thankful for?

Will you join me in looking for these gifts and sharing them with others?

I hope you have a wonderful “Thankful Thursday!

Thankful Thursday: Love

Yep….Love!

After all, it is Valentine’s Day! 🙂

I am thankful for the true meaning of love…God.

I am thankful for the ability to love and to be loved.

I am thankful that there are people in this world who are willing to love.

I am thankful for the healing power of love.

I am thankful for the happiness that true love can give.

I am thankful that I have someone who loves me so very much.

I’m thankful that I found that special someone, and every day, I am even more thankful for his love.

For our love!

Happy Valentines Day to the love of my life, my husband…my very best friend.

Traveling with my best friend

I have found that blogging while traveling can be a bit of a challenge at times.

However, traveling with my best friend is well worth any of those minor challenges!

As we set out to explore what’s in store for us today, I am once again reminded how blessed I am to have such an awesome husband and friend.

I’d like to think of us as the couple in the middle of those pictures…

I just like being together 🙂

What happens in Vegas…stays in Vegas

At least that’s how the saying goes. I didn’t do anything in Vegas that I couldn’t bring home with me, but it was an interesting experience that’s for sure.

I joined my husband on a business trip. My first time to Las Vegas since I was a kid!

He worked.  I explored!

And if I were a gambling person, which I’m not, this would not have been my week-end.

It started with disappointing results at a long-awaited restaurant.  I’ve wanted to go to this restaurant for years, and lets just say, it’s going to be hard for me to give it a second shot.

That was strike one.

Strike two came the next day, when I ventured out to another restaurant.  One that had been recommended to me by a friend. Unfortunately, the results at that restaurant were less than desirable as well, although I may be willing to give this one another try.

And the final strike was on the last day.

A much-needed pedicure was cancelled by the spa. 😦 Oh, but I was comped the daily fee for the use of the spa facilities. And yes, I took advantage of this offer.

3 strikes and I’m out!

It wasn’t all bad though.

My hotel was great! I got to meet Taylor Hicks, and hear him in concert! The people watching was spectacular! The water show at the Bellagio was beautiful!  I even witnessed a couple getting married right there on the sidewalk in front of the hotel!

It was fascinating. Bigger than life. Much brighter than home, but certainly not home!

It was another great adventure with my best friend! 🙂

Can’t. Stop. Coughing.

Oh boy, this cough is wearing me out! And I’ve only had it for a few weeks!  My husband has had it for almost 4 weeks now!

We went to the store and got some medicine for it.  The gal at the counter told us she’s been living on the stuff.

And then she offered this little bit of encouragement.  The cough can last up to 8 weeks!

Well, that made my day!

It’s very strange really.  It’s not like I’m sick, no fever, or achy bones. Just an annoying cough, that likes to be even more annoying just about the time I want to go to sleep.

Strange, the way our body works!

Time for another cup of hot tea with honey!  That seems to calm the coughing for a bit.

And that, my friends is what I’m striving for!

Quiet and calm.  The tea is good for both! (and the medicine helps too)

It’s a good thing it works too, because it looks like I’m going to be in this mode for a little bit longer.

But hey! I’m half-way through this now.  Brighter days ahead!

blogging in my sleep

I thought of something to write about as I was falling to sleep.  It was perfect!  I knew for sure that when I woke up this morning, I would be able to sit down at the computer, and type it all out in record-breaking time.

Well, things don’t always work out like I plan.  I have no idea what I was thinking about last night, and I’m sure that what I am writing right now, has nothing to do with my previous thoughts.

However….

I saw someone from my past today, and I was once again reminded of a choice that I made a little over a year a go, and I am so thankful that I took that step and made the choice to move in a new direction!

The choice to leave a job that I had for over seventeen and a half years!

Dr. Seuss quote

It was scary in the beginning, and I wasn’t sure where I was going, even now there are times when it’s all a little foreign to me, but I am confident of my decision, and I have no regrets.

Like the quote says, I have brains in my head!

And with the love and support from my husband, (who is my very best friend), I am more confident today of who I am and where I am going, than I have been in a very, long time.
