Weekly Photo Challenge: The Hue of You

This bracelet is a represents “The Hue of Me” on a few different levels.
One…because I love bracelets, and I rarely go a day without wearing one. (This one in particular reminds me of my daughter because it was a gift from her!)

Two, because I love all the colors, and I usually have a hard time deciding on one…but quite often I lean toward the blues and the purples.

A sparkly collection of “The Hue of Me…or You“!

Thankful Thursday: 3 Gifts Flourishing

3 Gifts Flourishing…

When I think of something that is “flourishing“, the first thing that comes to mind is relationships, life and love.

Each one flourishes in its own unique way, and yet they often interconnect. It might even be safe to say that one often has influence on another. It certainly makes for a happier life, when it’s filled with healthy, loving, relationships. 🙂

So I took a look at those three things again today, from another level, and I came up with this.

I’m pretty sure it’s nothing new or profound, it’s just my take on things that are flourishing, and how very thankful I am for all of them!

1. I am so thankful for the growing relationship of books, flourishing in the life of this little guy!

R reading books

2. My beautiful rose plant that just keeps giving life and flourishing year after year, in spite of my lack of knowledge of rose care!

3. And last, but certainly not the least of all, the most important thing that is flourishing in my life is my love for my amazing man! Can I just shout it out from the mountain top?

I am so VERY thankful for him, and I love him so much! 🙂

These are just a few of the many things that I am thankful for.

What are your “heavenly blessings“?

Will you join me in looking for these gifts and sharing them with others?

The unthankful heart discovers no mercies; but the thankful heart will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings.”

On this day in 1980…

I married my best friend!

It’s been 33 years, and I just keep falling love….

….Over and over and over again!

And now we are off to celebrate our successful marriage!

God has been so good to us! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Companionable

Companionablepossessing the qualities of a good companion, one who is pleasant to be with.

And who is that companionable person in my life?

Well, the only person that comes to my mind when I think of who this could be…is this guy!

He is my husband.  The love of my life!

my boyfriend

He is my true and faithful companion.  He is my very best friend.

I have been so blessed to have spent 33 + years with him.  I can’t imagine my life without him, so I try not to.

Time spent with him, is pleasant indeed!

A life of regret

I heard a song about the value of time, and looking back on life with only regret.  The old guy in the song is talking to a younger guy, telling him all about his regrets in life, because he didn’t take time.

Time for his family, time for his friends, time for a smile, time for a hug. His advice was to slow down, and enjoy what you have each day, because before you know it… it will be gone.

I know that time goes by quickly.  Every day it seems to go by just a little bit faster.  I’m not sure how that happens, but it does!

And, I guess we will all end up with a few regrets at the end of our life.  I know I have a few, and there will probably be a few more as my life goes on.

Of course there will be things in this life that are out of my control, that may or may not cause regret.  I realize this.

But is it necessary to live a life full of regret? I sure hope not.

So, what does the word regret mean?  I looked it up.

  • sorrw aroused by circumstances beyond one’s control or power to repair
  • an expression of distressing emotion (as sorrow)

It looks to me like I won’t be able to get though life without them.  But I think that by making good choices, I just might be able to limit the number of regrets, and maybe even eliminate a few along the way.

And that’s what I want.

I want to smile, and enjoy the moments of every day, and hopefully not end up like that old guy in the song!

Weekly photo challenge: love

We had to check it out.  This amazing place called Two Lovers Point in Guam.

And he is the love of my life.
love of my life
Thankfully, we didn’t feel the need to jump from the cliff, as described of the two lovers in the legend of Two Lovers Point. 🙂

Lessons in love

I am madly in love. I love being in love, and I love to love.  Especially this guy!

Paul and Becky

Love is a feeling, and an attitude, and a choice.  I have made the choice to love.  I make this decision every day.

It is so simple, and yet it can be so complex.

The complex part of love is that it naturally goes against what true love is all about.  Human nature says to be selfish, but true love is anything but selfish.

Love gives, when all it wants to do is get.  Love accepts, when all it wants to do is change.  Love listens, when all it wants to do is talk.

Love hangs in there, and never, ever gives up.

True love never fails.
