Happy Birthday to my sweet girl!
Today is my daughter’s birthday. Happy Birthday Baby! It seems like it was only a few years a go when I was holding her in my arms and welcoming her to this crazy mixed-up world of ours.
Oh, how quickly the time has gone by…but the memories, they really are very precious.
(I realize this would have been better if I had pictures from her childhood mixed in here, but I’m thousands of miles from home today, so the memories will have to do.)
I remember the days when we would cuddle and read books for hours.
Now…it’s her turn to snuggle with her little guy, and share her love for reading.
I remember when I would squeeze her tight, and absolutely delight in the feel of that little body in my arms.
Today…she’s experiencing this joy and wonder of holding her precious child, and the feeling of pure delight that comes with it!
I remember those moments when something as simple as a balloon would bring joy to her heart…and mine.
And now it’s her turn to experience the little things in life and just how amazingly special those little things and moments can be!
And I remember those times when she would run into my arms, squeeze my neck, and want nothing more than just to be held in my arms.
This moment…I know is one that she thoroughly enjoys. I’m so thankful that she is getting to experience this joy and wonder of being a mom.
I am so proud of her and the beautiful young lady she has become! Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and loving soul, touches my heart in ways that are quite difficult to express.
She is a wonderful person, a loyal friend, a fantastic little momma, and a loving daughter.
I am so very thankful God blessed my life by giving her to me on this day….30 years a go!
Thankful Thursday: oh happiness

Thankful Thursday: 3 Gifts Smelled
3 Gifts Smelled…
1. The smell of a newborn baby. Such a unique smell. So sweet, so pure. There is nothing quite like it in the world.
2. Coffee. Yes. The absolutely, wonderful and amazing smell of coffee. I am so thankful for this!
3. And from my garden, I love the smell of the jasmine as it wafts across the yard. I only wish it lasted a little longer.
These are just a few of the many things that I am so very thankful for today.

Thankful Thursday: 3 gifts orange
3 gifts orange:
Well, let’s see….orange isn’t really one of my “go to” colors, I’m more of a “blues” girl, but I think I found some pretty good orange things to be thankful for!
1. The dainty little orange poppy that pops up to greet us in the spring.
2. When the sun sets, leaving behind the brilliant orange glow across the water and the sky.
Quite possibly one of my favorite times of the day!
3. Sitting by a fire, chatting with friends, mesmerized by the orange glow, and enjoying the warmth of the fire as well as the friendship.
These are just a few of the many things that I am so very thankful for today.

One week down…4 more to go
Well, it’s been just a little over a week since I fractured my wrist, and life is just a little more interesting now!
I’m making a few adjustments and learning some new things too!
For example….
1. It is possible to wash my hair with just one hand
2. It is almost impossible to style my hair with just one hand
3. I can type with one hand and 4 fingers from the other hand for a short period of time with minimal pain.
4. It’s pretty much impossible to shave under my right arm with my right hand 😦 (this could get interesting!)
5. I miss scrubbing my hands together when I wash my hands. Who knew what a luxury that actually is!?
6. The bend at my elbow on my left arm can actually hold on to things, like a pseudo hand!
7. I really don’t need both hands to put my contacts in – I can do it all with one hand! Oh,yes I can! 🙂
8. Since I’m right-handed, I’m really thankful it wasn’t my right hand that got hurt. This list might sound completely different if that were the case!
9. And since I’m talking about being thankful – well, there’s a lot to be thankful for. It could have been so much worse. Like my hip, or my head, or my leg. So yeah, I’m very thankful it was just my wrist.
10. But most of all I’m learning, life goes on….and everything is gonna be ok.
